Terms of Service & Client Agreement

These Terms of Service govern all services provided by The Legal Document Genie. You agree to these Terms in two steps: At checkout: By placing your order on our Shopify store, you confirm you have read and agree to these Terms and acknowledge that this is a document preparation service, not legal advice. Before work begins: You will receive a separate written Client Agreement through our secure Clio client portal. California law (Business & Professions Code §6410) requires that a written contract be signed before any document preparation work begins. No work will start until that agreement is signed. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not place an order or use our services.

The Legal Document Genie is a trade name of Los Angeles Legal Lab, Inc., a California Legal Document Assistant business, registered and bonded with Los Angeles County (LDA #2018007072). We are bonded through Travelers Casualty and Surety Company of America (LDA Bond No. E926492; Unlawful Detainer Bond No. 108101294). We operate at thelegaldocumentgenie.com and provide non-attorney legal document preparation services to self-represented individuals in California. We are not a law firm. No attorney-client relationship is created by using our services. Our services do not constitute the practice of law.

The Legal Document Genie provides the following services only: • Preparation of legal documents based exclusively on information you provide • General procedural information about the court filing process • Delivery of completed documents with filing instructions We do not provide and are expressly prohibited by law from providing: • Legal advice of any kind • Legal strategy or recommendations • Interpretation of laws as they apply to your situation • Representation in court or before any tribunal • Selection of legal documents on your behalf — you select all documents You, as the client, are solely responsible for selecting the documents you need, reviewing all completed documents before filing, and all decisions and outcomes related to your legal matter.

IMPORTANT: Under California Business & Professions Code §6411, you have the right to cancel this agreement within 24 hours of signing the written Client Agreement (completed in Clio) and receive a full refund of any fees paid, provided no work has begun. To cancel, contact us immediately at info@thelegaldocumentgenie.com. After the 24-hour cancellation window has passed or work has begun (whichever comes first), the refund policy in Section 9 applies.

In compliance with California Business & Professions Code §6410, all fees are disclosed to you before work begins. Our services are offered on a flat-fee basis as follows: • The Escape — $499 • The Genie — $689 • The Full Wish — $897 Each package includes free court filing preparation and delivery of completed documents. A full itemized description of what is included in each package is provided at the point of purchase and in your written Client Agreement. We reserve the right to update pricing at any time. Pricing in effect at the time of your purchase governs your order. Buy Now Pay Later options (Klarna, Shop Pay Installments, Affirm) may be available at checkout. Use of these services is subject to the terms of the respective third-party provider.

By using our services, you agree and confirm that: • You are representing yourself in your legal matter as a self-represented litigant • You are not retaining The Legal Document Genie as your attorney or legal representative • You have selected the documents you need — we have not selected them for you • All information you provide to us is accurate, truthful, and complete • You will review all completed documents carefully before filing them with any court • You are responsible for all decisions made in connection with your legal matter • You are responsible for ensuring your documents comply with current court requirements • You will notify us promptly of any errors or omissions in your documents We are not responsible for errors resulting from inaccurate or incomplete information you provide.

Step 1 — Checkout Agreement (Shopify) When you complete your purchase, you confirm agreement to these Terms by clicking the order confirmation button. The following disclosure appears at checkout: "By placing your order, you agree to our Terms of Service and acknowledge that The Legal Document Genie is a registered LDA, not a law firm, and does not provide legal advice." Step 2 — Written Client Agreement (Clio Portal) Following your purchase, you will receive access to our secure Clio client portal where you will sign a written Client Agreement as required by California Business & Professions Code §6410. This agreement will include: • An itemized statement of all services and fees • Your acknowledgment of the LDA disclosure • Your 24-hour cancellation rights notice • Your confirmation that you have selected your own documents • Bond disclosure information No document preparation work will begin until your written Client Agreement is signed in the Clio portal.

To prepare your legal documents, you will provide sensitive personal information including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, financial information, and information about your case. This information is: • Entered directly by you into our secure Clio client portal • Not stored on our own servers or website • Used solely for the purpose of preparing your legal documents • Never sold, shared for marketing purposes, or disclosed to unauthorized parties By providing this information, you consent to its use for document preparation purposes as described in our Privacy Policy.

Our refund policy is as follows: Full refund: Available if you cancel within 24 hours of signing your written Client Agreement AND before any work has begun, as provided under California Business & Professions Code §6411. Partial refund: May be considered at our discretion if work has begun but is not complete, based on the proportion of work completed. No refund: Once document preparation is complete and documents have been delivered to you. We do not issue refunds for: • Court rejection of documents due to inaccurate or incomplete information you provided • Legal outcomes or court decisions • Your decision to change legal strategy after work has begun • Delays caused by court processing times To request a refund, contact us at info@thelegaldocumentgenie.com within the applicable window.

The Legal Document Genie does not guarantee: • Court acceptance or approval of any document • Any particular outcome in your legal matter • That completed documents will be free of error if based on inaccurate information you provided • Collection of any judgment or award Legal outcomes depend on many factors beyond document preparation, including judicial discretion, opposing parties, and applicable law. We prepare documents only.

We use the following third-party platforms to operate our services. Your use of these platforms is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies: • Shopify — payment processing and order management • Clio — secure client intake, case management, and written Client Agreement • Zapier — workflow automation between platforms • Readdy.ai — website hosting • Buy Now Pay Later providers (Klarna, Shop Pay Installments, Affirm) — financing options We are not responsible for the performance, security, or terms of these third-party platforms.

All services are provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by California law, The Legal Document Genie makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding: • Court acceptance of any completed document • Fitness of any document for any particular legal purpose • Uninterrupted or error-free service availability Nothing in this section limits your statutory rights as a California consumer.

To the fullest extent permitted by California law, The Legal Document Genie's total liability for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for: • Legal outcomes or court decisions • Financial losses resulting from your legal matter • Indirect, consequential, or punitive damages • Errors resulting from inaccurate or incomplete information you provided Nothing in this section is intended to limit any rights you have under California consumer protection law or the California Legal Document Assistant Act.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Legal Document Genie, its owners, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: • Inaccurate or false information you provided • Your use or misuse of completed documents • Your violation of any court rule or applicable law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or our services shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts. Nothing in this section limits your right to file a complaint with the Los Angeles County LDA program, the California Department of Consumer Affairs, or any other applicable regulatory body.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on our website with an updated Effective Date. Your continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. For active client matters, the Terms in effect at the time of your written Client Agreement govern your case.
